Distance to start FRACCOMBE – NORTH HANTS( between Newbury and Andover)

17.5miles .This took us about 40 minutes. You can either go by the Bourne Valley and Hurstbourne Tarrant or across country from Whitchurch. The latter is shorter but the road is a bit mucky.

Sat Nav Reference SP11 0DS
Where we are parking Pub car park
Where we can eat/drink Jack Russel pub Faccombe
Distance of walk  5.5miles ( approx. 3 hours)
Where we will walk Circular walk from Faccombe via Ashmansworth ( 770feet)  over Pilot Hill (937 feet) using Brenda Parker Way and WayfaresWay .
Terrain Well maintained tracks and footpaths on an ancient ridgeway, short sections on very quiet single-track road. Some inclines and descents. Not overly muddy when we walked it but it appears to be coming into the “rainy season “again so poles may be a useful addition. Fairly easy and varied trip with some good all-round views and lots of wildlife. If clear superb views across Berkshire

Other notes Provisional booking for 6 at the Jack Russel pub in Faccombe made for 2pm – see pub web site for menu. Food is served till 2.30 pm if we are late. The pub has recently been reopened at a cost of 3m so you know what to expect.
. This is slight further out than our normal 30 min radius but it is lovely rural landscape in the heart of the North Hampshire Downs with a bit of altitude thrown in for those of you like a hill!
