I am very sorry to have to tell you that Harvey Wallace, the husband of one of our members Dayl, died last Tuesday.
Harvey was not able to walk himself but when Dayl came on a walk he would sometimes meet up with us for a pub lunch afterwards and I know he came to our post Christmas lunch at the Queen at Dummer last year and on more than one other occasion. He also accompanied Dayl on our residential leg of the Kennet and Avon canal walk a few years ago.
Harvey was a keen bridge player and together with Dayl ran U3A bridge lessons for many years. I know he has taught several of the Ramblers members to play bridge and we will miss him very much.
Our thoughts are with Dayl and her family at this very sad time and a message of condolence will be sent to her on behalf of the Ramblers.
