Please wear long trousers as there is a field of uncut rape and weeds which is above waist height and I would recommend that you use insect repellent as well as sunscreen.  Trainers will be ok as it’s not boggy anywhere.  Meals are all booked at The Fox as requested.

This is just a reminder to check that everyone who wants to walk on the 19^th June has been in touch with me to confirm their meal order which I have to submit by Sunday 15^th to The Fox at North Waltham.  So far I have 4 names, Pat, Carolyn, Dayl and Ethna.

If you intend to walk there and back, we will leave the school layby at 4.30 pm to walk to North Waltham, time of arrival about 6.30 pm.  After we have eaten, we will set off at 7.45 pm to walk to Oakley expecting to arrive about 9.30 pm just before the sun sets.  We had lovely views of the setting sun over Oakley last year.

Those who intend to walk from Oakley, we will leave from Oakley Junior School layby at 4.15 pm to arrive at The Fox in North Waltham for 6 – 6.30 pm.

If you do not intend to walk but would like to meet for the meal please let me know.

We have been asked to pre-order our food 4 days prior to 19th, that is 15^th June latest.  A menu is attached but note only the Pub Grub applies in the evening.  Anyone who does not confirm their food order can rest assured there will not be a meal magically waiting for them.  

We do not have to pay for the meal or pay a deposit beforehand, everyone can settle their own bill at the end.

Those who intend to walk back we will leave The Fox about 7.45 pm to arrive in Oakley just before sunset about 9.45 pm.

I would like an indication of interest please so I can confirm to The Fox the expected numbers on the night.

Hello All,

Just a quick reminder of our get together at The Old House At Home in Overton on 30^th April.  

Currently we have 12 people who have contacted me to say they are attending.

Your last chance to let me know if you would like to come is 28th April.

Those who want to walk to The Old House – if it’s not belting with rain* – we will leave from the Oakley Junior school layby at 5pm to walk to the Old House and use the 76 bus to return home.  

*No one wants to sit in soaking wet clothes to eat their meal, or rather I don’t!
