| Distance of Walk | Two walks will be offered in the Hungerford area. The morning walk will be 11.2km (7 miles) and start at 10am from Hungerford High Street. The afternoon walk will be 8.3km (5 miles) and will start at 2pm from the bridge at the bottom of the High Street next to the canal. |
| Start Time & Place (Meet 10 mins before start) | Meet at Oakley school layby at 8:50, ready to leave at 9am. The plan is to start walking from Hungerford at 10am. If you plan to go directly to Hungerford, meet on the High Street at the corner with Church St, outside Nationwide Building Society. If you wish to join the afternoon walk only, meet outside the Tutti Pole café (3 High St, Hungerford RG17 0DN ) at 2pm, or join the group from 1pm for lunch. Parking in Hungerford is available in Church Street Pay & Display car park, Church St, Hungerford RG17 0JG. Fees are chargeable on Sundays, up to 4 hours is £2.70, over 4 hours is £6.40. There may also be free roadside parking in the town. |

| Walk description / difficulty | Two walks will be offered on the day. Walk 1 – Starting at 10am from Hungerford High Street. This will be an easy walk of 11.2 km (7-miles) looping from Hungerford and back via Kintbury. The walk briefly ascends to lead across country fields and lanes to Kintbury, then returns along the Kennet & Avon canal. When checking out the walk, there were cows in the first field we crossed. Walk 2 – Starting at 2pm from the bridge at the bottom of the High St. If you are joining for the afternoon only, meet the group outside the Tutti Pole café at 2pm. This is another easy walk of 8km (5 miles) which heads out along the canal towards Bedwyn and then cuts up to fields over the railway bridge where there are 2 quite high stiles. After this the route is a mix of fields and a small amount of road walking, finishing back at Hungerford High Street close to Church St Car Park. |

| Directions to start of walk | Take the A339 to Newbury, then follow the A339 through Newbury and onto the A4 towards Hungerford Or Take the B3400 to Whitchurch, join the A34 travelling North and leave at the Hungerford junction to join the A4 to Hungerford. On arriving in Hungerford take the first exit at the roundabout onto Bridge Street, A338, and follow the road over the bridge into High Street. Drive up the High Street and on reaching a small roundabout, take the second exit into Church Street and the car park will be on the right-hand side immediately after the library. |
| Where we can eat/drink (If applicable) | Walk 1 will finish at approximately 1pm and we will stop for lunch in Hungerford High Street. There are numerous cafes, I usually go to Elianes, there are also benches and a green area at the bottom of the High Street near the canal if a packed lunch is preferred. |
| Other notes | Please let the leader know if you plan to drive direct to Hungerford in the morning, or are joining for walk 2 only so she knows to wait for you in Hungerford. |
