Hi,
After much research we have managed to find a great location for the 2027 walking holiday.
For 2027 we will be visiting the Peak District, more specifically the southern White Peak area. It has been a challenge to find accommodation that will work for the group and we have settled on the Sandybrook Lodge holiday park, that is situated about a mile north of Ashbourne. This provides self catering accommodation in lodges of various sizes and, to get the best value, we plan to stay there for 7 days. It is anticipated that those sharing a lodge will organise their own breakfasts and packed lunches and we will use local pubs or similar for evening meals as we did in Wales last year. There may be the option to cook and eat an evening meal together but this will depend on the size of the lodges and how many of us go.
Dates
Monday 10th May 27 to Monday 17 May 27.
Accommodation
The holiday park offers 1,2 and 3 bed lodges and also has a swimming pool. Details can be found at: https://www.hoseasons.co.uk/accom/SABR?gclsrc=aw.ds&gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=78409359&gbraid=0AAAAAD4Juf47OoJxoqXNr_YhwcwGgG7UI&gclid=Cj0KCQjw4orUBhCjARIsAIbF3qyYvLUBDzgFneE7Wv-alH4zok2ngnOcVzFm2BZmFIreFewaUAzrlWEaAizPEALw_wcB

1 bedroom lodges are available for about £700
2 bedroom lodges are available for about £800 (1x Double, 1x Twin)
3 bedroom lodges are available for about £925 (1x Double, 2x Twin)
For evening meals we are very close to Ashbourne that has a range of pubs, restaurants and chip shops, and a number of the walks I hope to complete will end at pubs or some of the other nearby towns.
The Walking

7 days gives us plenty of time for walking and the peak district is a great area for this. There are lots of walks in the area that can accommodate all abilities and I will create a walk pack for the trip.
There are some classic walks nearby, for example Dovedale is very close to where we are staying, and I am very familiar with the walks in the area. For those who may want to take some days off from walking whilst we are there, options include Chatsworth House and some National Trust properties. For the adrenaline junkies, Dale, Ethna and Julie, Alton Towers is also close by!
Next Steps
If you are interested in joining us please let me know within the next two weeks. I am not sure how fast the accommodation will go, so I plan to make a booking on 28 August. When letting me know if you will be joining us, please could you let me know if you would be willing to share a twin room with another club member as this will help to reduce your costs. I will apportion costs to the number of people in a lodge. If you are a couple, please let me know if you would be happy to share a two bed lodge with another person.
Looking forward to hearing back from you. I think that this has the potential to be a great walking holiday.
